The Canto Gelato Andover shop was the first franchise offering and is located on the main High Street in Andover town centre. Andover is a market town with a relatively high footfall throughout the town, especially students. We have rebranded with fresh new vibrant colours and pictures. The new face lift has attracted many comments of how bright and fun it is. The shop can sit about 40-50 people in total and we are lucky that we also have a back room which we can use as a dedicated party room.

The new and improved menu still has the popular favourites as well as many new ideas including sharing, savoury options and breakfast items. We have received really great reviews with a 4.9 out of 5 rating. We already have over 3,300 followers on social media with over 283 positive reviews. We would like to thank Canto Gelato for help and supporting us during the rebrand, you will always experience problems when you undertake a venture like this, buts its really important to pick a helpful, supportive company, and we have found that in Canto Gelato.

The New Owners

Kelly and Steve took over the Franchise of the Andover shop in November 2019. We have wanted our own establishment for many years, I have a history of pub management, and an NVQ assessing and secondary teaching in hospitality and catering. We grasped this opportunity with both hands with a plan of possibly opening a second outlet and offering training and consultancy for future franchisees. We are very excited to be working with Canto Gelato and look forward to working with them and growing our portfolio in the future. The dessert and gelato market is a really exciting and vibrant market and one that is growing across the world.

Festive Flavours

Kelly has already put her own stamp on the Andover shop and they have introduced festive gelato flavours, seasonal hot chocolates and a mince pie crepe special for Christmas as well as offers to welcome new customers such as discounts and free hot drinks. The soft sell evening was a great success with fantastic feedback and atmosphere.

New to the store

We are already trying to work with local groups and businesses to partner with them offering discounts and party-room specials. We have also recorded a radio advert selling us as a family and franchised store. I have also recently had an interview as I have created a parent group on Monday and Friday mornings, offering the shop party room out as a place for parents and young children to meet, chat and relax. We have also created a partnership with Jollypop entertainment which is a party planning group that offer Disney princesses to attend, sing, tell stories and join in the party.

We are also in talks with Deliveroo to hopefully offer delivery in the New Year.  We also have a Coca Cola deal who are installing a drinks dispenser for the high volume of cold drinks we sell and the new gelato floats on the menu.

We regularly talk to and suggest changes, improvements and specials with Canto Gelato and we are really happy with the help and support they have given us in setting up and making our shop a success – its nice to work with a company that listens to its franchise network, and have similar goals to ourselves.
